Yokogawa Releases SL1400 ScopeCorder LITE - A New Waveform Measuring Instrument That Combines Sophisticated Features with Ease of Use

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced today that it has developed the SL1400 ScopeCorder LITE, a new version in the ScopeCorder series, and will release it on June 1. The SL1400 ScopeCorder LITE was developed for the industrial machinery, automotive and other mechatronics markets, as well as applications such as electrical equipment maintenance and power supply quality control in plant locations. The ultimate development goal was to have user-friendly instruments that are easy to operate in the field.

Development Background
In 1997 Yokogawa began developing a new series of waveform measuring instruments that could observe mechanical, temperature, and other physical signal outputs as well as electrical signals. With its multi-channel input capability and large memory capacity, the ScopeCorder series has opened up a number of new markets for Yokogawa. This series has been well received in the automobile and other mechatronics industries, where it is widely used in the development, design, inspection, production, and maintenance of devices.

Yokogawa also produces the OR series of oscillographic recorders, which have a compact, lightweight, and easy-to-operate design and are widely used in plants and in the field for the maintenance of electrical equipment.

With its sophisticated capabilities and a user-friendly design that is highly suitable for use in the field, the newly developed SL1400 ScopeCorder LITE combines the advantages of both these product series.

New Product Features
1. Remarkably Improved Operability and Visibility
Three setting knobs enable each setting to be made in the same way as with an analog instrument. Visibility has also been improved with the inclusion of a large 10.4-inch color LCD screen.

2. Multi-channel Input Capability and a Variety of Input Modules
The SL1400 ScopeCorder LITE offers up to 16 analog channels and 16-bit logic inputs, and supports applications such as simultaneous multiple measurements. To respond to a variety of measurement items, a total of 11 plug-in input modules are available for applications such as voltage, temperature, strain, acceleration, and frequency.

3. Built-in Printer for Printing Waveform Charts in Real Time
A thermal printer with 210 mm width paper is provided as a standard feature and this allows measured waveforms to be printed out in real time.

Major Target Markets and Applications
- Maintenance of electrical equipment in plant locations
- Product development and inspection in automobile, machinery, and other mechatronics
  industries
- Power supply quality control
