Yokogawa to Launch DL9710L Mixed-signal Scope

Yokogawa Electric Corporation has developed the DL9710L Mixed-signal Scope and will release it to the market on February 2, 2007.

The DL9710L is a digital oscilloscope that features 32 digital input channels and a 5 GS/s sampling speed. This digital oscilloscope allows for simultaneous multi-channel monitoring of devices and electronic circuits in which digital and analog signals are mixed (mixed-signal). This model is an upgrade to our DL7400 series digital oscilloscopes.

By introducing this new product into the market, we aim to expand our oscilloscope business.

Development Background
With the higher functionality and performance of today's consumer electronics information appliances and PC peripherals, the devices and electronic circuits built into these products have greater complexity and speed. As these devices and electronic circuits perform analog-to-digital signal conversion, make calculations, and store digital data, they feature an increased number of digital signal channels.

In consumer electronic and PC peripheral product development, this is leading to rising demand for a digital oscilloscope that is capable of simultaneous multi-channel monitoring and evaluation of mixed-signal devices and electronic circuits.

Furthermore, a high sampling rate is required in digital oscilloscopes to ensure the acquisition of high-speed signals. Yokogawa developed the DL9710L in response to these needs.

Product Features

1. Simultaneous Multi-channel Monitoring of Digital and Analog Signals
Users can simultaneously monitor 32 digital signal channels (twice as many as the DL7400 series) and 4 analog signal channels. This feature improves the efficiency of mixed-signal device and electronic circuit development and evaluation.
2. Reliable Acquisition and Verification of High-speed Signals
With a sampling speed of 5 GS/s (2.5 times faster than the DL7400 series), the DL9710L can accurately capture high-speed signals. Furthermore, since it saves the captured signals in history memory (dedicated memory for storing captured signals), users can individually verify the captured signals and the relationship between channels if an abnormal signal occurs.
3. Easy-to-view Display
Users can quickly determine the frequency of abnormal events such as noise and fluctuations by viewing the DL9710L display. High-frequency events are indicated with a thick line and low-frequency events with a thin line.

Major Target Markets
Manufacturers of consumer electronics and audio-visual equipment such as digital cameras and portable music players, PC peripherals such as printers and scanners, semiconductors, and electronic device-related products

Applications
 • Design and evaluation of electronic circuits
 • Communication bus data evaluation and troubleshooting
 • Control signal monitoring and control firmware debugging for micro-processors and
    the like
