February 24, 2009 Yokogawa Releases Plant Resource Manager (PRM™) Version R3.03 On February 25, Yokogawa Electric Corporation will release an upgrade of its Plant Resource Manager (PRM™), version R3.03. PRM is an integrated device management software package that centrally manages the parameters of various types of field devices, monitors the status of these devices, and performs online device diagnosis. With this latest R3.03 upgrade, PRM has been enhanced to improve its integration with the STARDOM Network-based Control System, which is widely used in upstream processing facilities such as natural gas and oil wells. Furthermore, support of Windows Vista® has been added. Key Upgrade Features
* The Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL) is an international standard protocol for describing device information such as manufacturer name, model name, and measuring range. Masatoshi Nakahara, Vice President and head of the Industrial Automation Systems Business Center, Industrial Automation Business Headquarters, commented: "The latest version of PRM has been enhanced for natural gas and oil well facilities. I believe this upgrade will make the maintenance of upstream facilities more efficient.
