Yokogawa Releases Easy-to-Use, High-Performance DLM6000 and DL6000 Oscilloscopes

Tokyo, Japan - October 15, 2009

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces the simultaneous release on October 15 of the DLM6000 Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes and the DL6000 Digital Oscilloscopes.

In addition to retaining the same menu and panel features that made the preceding DLM2000 series easy and intuitive to operate, both of these new series of digital oscilloscopes deliver enhanced functionality for faster computation and analysis. The joint release of the DLM6000 series, which is capable of simultaneously observing multiple points in mixed signal devices and electronic circuits, and the DL6000 series, which excels at observing analog signals, allows our customers to choose the model that best matches their application.

By releasing these two series of digital oscilloscopes, Yokogawa aims to expand its waveform measuring instrument business.

Development Background

With electronic products becoming more sophisticated and their performance increasing every year, the devices and electronic circuits used in these products are also becoming faster and more complex. Oscilloscopes, which are indispensable for evaluating the performance of these devices and electronic circuits and testing their operation, are required to be capable of not only precisely observing waveforms at a high sampling rate but also performing serial bus analysis and sophisticated waveform computation. However, sophisticated oscilloscopes with these functions tend to be difficult to operate. At the same time, easy-to-use oscilloscopes tend to have limited functions and are unable to adequately perform analysis and computation without the assistance of other devices.

To address these needs, Yokogawa is simultaneously releasing the DLM6000 and DL6000 series.

Product Features

  1. Easy to use operator controls and enhanced mathematical functions
The front panel has been designed with numerous dedicated knobs and switches that make it possible for operators to directly configure the measurement parameters for frequently used functions. In addition, there is now a wider variety of mathematical functions to choose from. These enhancements make it possible for operators to carry out more sophisticated computation and analysis.
  2. Higher sampling rate and added memory
Depending on the model, sampling rates of up to 5 or 10 GS/s are now possible for simultaneous multi-channel measurements and analog and logic mixed signal measurements, enabling high-speed signals to be precisely captured and displayed so that no unusual events are overlooked. Furthermore, up to 2,000 waveform screens can now be stored in memory, so unusual events can be verified individually and correlations between channels can be displayed and verified.
  3. Increase in number of digital channels that can be simultaneously observed
Models in the DLM6000 series are now able to simultaneously up to 16 or 32 digital channels as well as 4 analog channels, significantly increasing the efficiency of the development and evaluation of mixed signal devices and electronic circuits.
