YOKOGAWA

Yokogawa Electric Corporation

Survey on Green Procurement

To: All business partners

Various approaches are being taken to achieve sustainable development in a broad range of fields. In Japan, laws and regulations such as the Home Appliance Recycling Law and the Law for the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources have come into force. In Europe, preparations are being made to pass similar laws and regulations such as the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive and the Directive on the Prohibition of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS).

The Yokogawa Group is aware that preserving the environment on our irreplaceable planet Earth is the highest priority issue for all humanity. For this reason, we are aiming in every aspect of our corporate activities to help achieve a sustainable society.

As part of this effort, we are conducting surveys to determine the content of hazardous chemical substances in parts and materials. These surveys are being conducted under the guidelines of the Japan Green Procurement Survey Standardization Initiative (JGPSSI) and are being done in order to facilitate the procurement of environmentally friendly materials.

  • (Note: We have changed the JGPSSI Tool from the conventionally used Ver.2 to Ver.3. From now on, you will be requested to submit your report using Tool Ver.3.)

Yokogawa Group Green Procurement Guidelines

The Yokogawa Group will put emphasis on green procurement based on the following concept:

"Procurement of materials with low environmental loads = Provision of environment-conscious products"

Through shared understanding of Green Procurement, the Yokogawa Group requests that all of our suppliers join in our endeavor. Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation.

Regarding the Parts and Materials Addressed in This Survey

Yokogawa requests a survey on parts that have already been registered by Yokogawa and on parts to be newly registered, as well as on parts to be replaced as a result of alteration/ discontinuation. Business partners who are obligated to take this survey will be informed.

Documents to be Submitted for Green Procurement Survey

You are requested to fill in and submit the following documents when responding to the Green Procurement Survey. Please download these files by clicking on the links.
You are basically required to submit the JGP file and the Confirmation Note for the Submitted Documents. However, if it is difficult to respond to the survey on chemical substances in the JGP file, you may submit a Certificate of RoHS Compliance instead of the JGP file and the Confirmation Note for the Submitted Documents; however, this rule only applies to the products and assemblies.
