-Purpose of the Users Meeting
A total of eight presentations were given at the meeting, providing current and prospective users an opportunity to learn about actual applications of SBP packages such as Exapilot, Exaquantum, and Exasmoc. At the request of many customers, one of the presentations was on the OmegaLand operator training simulator.

This year’s meeting had the largest ever turnout, with 230 users from a variety of industry sectors attending. Users made presentations on their Exaplog, Exapilot, Exaquantum, Exasmoc, Exarqe, and OmegaLand applications, and these were followed by lively question and answer sessions. It was an honor to welcome Mr Kees den Bakker, Manager of the Advanced Process Control Team of Shell Global Solutions International B.V., Netherlands. He was the first presenter from outside Japan to attend this users meeting.

The panel discussion

-Panel Discussion
A panel discussion on the theme of “How to Inherit and Succeed Plant Operation and Plant Operation Support Techniques” was held in the latter part of the meeting.  Opinions from many different industry sectors were exchanged in a lively panel discussion.

Although the time assigned for each presenter was short, we were able to have a variety of presentations from different applications and industry segments during the users meeting. It seems that attendees expect more detailed, specific presentations on applications as well as on cases where the application ran into difficulties. Yokogawa plans to continue holding the SBP & OTS Users Meeting so that users can exchange information and learn from each other’s experience.
