The Next Generation in SCADA & Process Management Software, FAST/TOOLS R9.03

Remote Asset Management is driving down cost of operation and optimizes sharing and exchange of information. In the Java based FAST/TOOLS engineering and maintenance environment are the latest (web) technologies incorporated for access and execution within standard Web browsers like Microsoft IE, Fire-fox, etc.
This facilitates access to the application and system software configuration in a zero deployment and transparent manner to the various start-up and design teams.
Integrity and confidentiality of process information is preserved. Java was chosen as it can be used with standard World Wide Web browsers; it is architecturally neutral and provides good support for superb graphics.

Numerous benefits are derived from this concept including global access and sharing of data via e.g. collaboration centers allowing continuous application development and management to take place.
Further more a reduction in the number of necessary paper documents and a higher level of management efficiency through the continuous availability of process information with an expected reduction in cycle time.

• Designed and built to be deployed completely in a Web based environment. This allows access to all engineering and maintenance functionality with only browser technology.
• Increased responsiveness and interactivity achieved by exchanging small amounts of data with the server "behind the scenes".

Zero deployment and easy to adopt.

The new engineering and visualization editor with an advanced sheet and form based environment allows for a conveniently arranged framework reducing engineering and visualization efforts tremendously. The new and easy to work with environment combines the power of today's most sophisticated graphical applications in one easy to manage package. Dynamic layers and visibility groups enable multilevel processes and KPI monitoring and supervision within one operations architecture.

To fulfill the requirements of today’s end-user we have released FAST/TOOLS for the latest Microsoft Windows platforms.
Windows Server 2008 and the Windows 7 are made for each other and made to provide better and more secure computing when used together. That empowers FAST/TOOLS as well to be deployed in a robust and secure manner.

Yokogawa’s FAST/TOOLS SCADA software is designed to run on various different types of Operation System (OS), and thus capable to provide client-server operation in SCADA architectures.

FAST/TOOLS can offer LINUX on the SCADA Host Server for data acquisition and storage, and Windows on the SCADA Web Operator and Engineering Station functions or Use a Web browser on any platform.

New plug-in structure, which goes beyond “traditional driver configuration”, allows for excellent integration of new and existing infrastructures.

Main advantages:

• Soft Marshaling of driver addresses. Introduction of ‘point’ labels with reflexes and address of a driver. Points can now easily connect/disconnect or reassigned to items. (like device labels in STARDOM). Enables easy loop checking and testing of displays and upgrading of PLC/RTU without change the item configuration.
• Easy to add new drivers because of the plug-in structure with seamless integration in the engineering tools.
• Single configuration windows for all parameters of the driver.

In this release we also introduce three new drivers.

• For communication with the Yokogawa DAQMaster range of products we release the DAQMaster driver. This will provide complete integration with the MW100/MX100 data acquisition unit guaranteeing a high performance data acquisition/data-logging platform.
• The Mitsubishi Melsec driver for easy connection to all Mitsubishi Products like PLC’s, NC-Machine’s, Robot’s, etc.
• The IEC Technical Committee has developed a protocol standard for Telecontrol, RTU’s and PLC’s for e.g. electric power systems. This resulted in the IEC 60870-5 standard. Four IEC 60870-5 protocols are implemented which are the 101, 102, 103 & 104.

Part of the enhanced FTeXchange tool are the now included graphical status/diagnostic displays for the STARDOM and ProSafe-RS products lines to provide detailed information about health, (CPU)load, hardware, communication paths, temperatures, memory capacity, etc. It provides an easy overview of the entire system configuration at hand.
