FAST/TOOLS Features

Functionality

The FAST/TOOLS provide functions such as data acquisition with the field and the real time event manager for storing the information. It also provides the system installation and configuration tool, data management system and real time networking for communication between the modules. Additional modules can be added as a plug-in to the networking layer to increase client specific functionality. Examples are client specific calculation, optimisation modules or HMI.

Object Oriented Engineering


PROCESS/FAST module is used as the Object Oriented Engineering tool to add user defined functions in the FAST/TOOLS environment. These can be very simple like summing the value of two tags and putting the result in a third tag up to a full set of flow calculations or a function which describes the behavior of a pump. A function can to be defined once (called a class) and used multiple times (called objects).


Reporting


REPORT/FAST is the tool for generating reports of configuration , alarming,  actual  or historical data.

Alarm System Performance Analysis

FAST/TOOLS ASPA delivers critical statistical views and tools which are required to analyze the level of performance in relation to the guidelines of EEMUA 191.

ASPA supports the alarm system performance improvement processes to avoid operator overload and reduce the risk of critical alarms being overlooked, causing wrong or to late decisions putting safety as well as the continuity and quality of production at stake.
