FAST/TOOLS Features

Functionality

Data archiving

FAST/TOOLS supports storing data on disk with the lifetime you think is adequate. Data is kept on disk/CD/DVD to be available for on-line trending or historical alarm displays with a storage life time that can range from hours up to weeks or even years.
In addition there is the possibility to transfer relevant historical data to tape, CD-ROM or DVD-ROM.

Access to other applications

FAST/TOOLS has an open interface to connect to 3rd party products like management information systems, batch tracking and leak detection systems, etc. This open interface is based on the FAST/TOOLS Data Set Services (DSS) layer. On top of the this layer the following industry standard interface protocols are available: ODBC, OPC and XML
Beside these industry standard interfaces you can add your own client via the easy to learn Application Programmers Interface (API).

Operator actions logging

Some configuration changes or control actions can greatly influence the behaviour of the system that is being controlled and monitored. It must be possible to retrieve this type of information afterwards to be able to trace the cause of problems or to be able to improve operational procedures
