Calibration Workshop

Yokogawa Standards Laboratory offers a 2-day Basic Calibration course for QA Personnel, QA Inspectors, Field service Engineers involved in Measurement Control Implementation. This course is also suited for service personnel in the manufacturing, oil and gas industries as well as newly qualified ISO 9000 quality auditors.

SDF TVS Scheme

SDF TVS Grant is applicable to companies which financially sponsor employees for this course. The SDF TVS support level is at $4 per trainee per hour, with other basic criteria being met. Companies need only pay the non-supported portion of the course fee and submit the SDF Form TVS 1 D (obtainable from Yokogawa or SDF) to Yokogawa.

Course Content

DAY 1

A. What is the ISO/IEC/17025 Requirement in Calibration Laboratory?

1. International Metrology - Regional Traceability of Measurement.
2. Standards and Traceability - What constitutes a good calibration report that meets ISO.
3. Laboratory Quality - What are the contents in Laboratory Quality Manual?
4. Laboratory Audits - What are the likely questions from quality auditors?

B. Basic Metrology - How to Read Technical Specification?

1. Some useful terminology like accuracy, precision, ppm, sensitivity, resolution, etc.
2. Practice on drafting calibration data sheet.

DAY 2

C. Uncertainty of Measurement

1. Methods, worked examples and Yokogawa Standards Laboratory practices.

D. Calibration Techniques - Hands-on

1. Trainees will learn the correct technique of calibrating AC/DC Analog and Digital Indicators, Temperature Recorders, RTD and Digital Thermometers, Pressure Manometers and Oscilloscopes
