The ability to measure switching elements is critical for the evaluation of switching power supplies. It is especially important to be able to analyze the ASO, max surge voltage, and switching loss of transient responses that occur when the power is turned on or with load fluctuations. Using the DL1740E waveform parameter calculation and X-Y display functions, you can efficiently perform measurement and analysis of those events.
With the DL1740E's long record length, you can measure each voltage and current value from power ON to stabilization at high time resolutions. In X-Y mode you can specify the display period, and perform ASO analysis with a specified switching cycle. High speed calculation functions let you observe, in realtime, everything from the voltage and current values to the power values at each switching cycle. Also, by using cycle statistics processing functions that allow you to perform parameter calculations at each switching cycle, you can quickly and efficiently identify switching cycles that exhibit problems at power ON or during load fluctuations.
