<Application>

There is ever-increasing demand for color printers with improved speed and printing quality. The start/stop characteristics of the stepper motors used in those devices are important factors in their performance. In this section we introduce our 4-Ch Timing Measurement Module for the WE7000 series of PC-based measurement instruments, and how it can be used for measuring these characteristics.

The stepper motors used in color printers are required to be able to reach a position and stop suddenly. Using the 4-Ch Timing Measurement Module with its pulse Up and Down Count function, you can easily measure the rotation vibration in these motors. Also, using the calculation functions you can convert the up/down values of the pulse to determine the distance moved and the position. And by adding our Digitizer Module to your setup, you also can measure voltage and current in the motor.

<Solution Features>
  • Measurement Made Simple
    The WE7000 PC-Based Measurement Instrument features a modular system that is easy to set up. Simply by inserting the appropriate modules into the station, you can create a custom device to handle your specific measurement application—all with plug and play convenience.

  • A Module for Every Measurement
    Like the 4-Ch Measurement Module introduced here, the WE7000 has an abundant line up of measurement modules for a wide array of measurement tasks.

  • Full Complement of Calculation Functions
    The WE7521 has many calculation functions, including between-channel math (the four basic operations), and conversion to industrial units.

  • Seamless Operation Between Modules
    Synchronous/asynchronous measurement is easily performed using module-to-module or external triggering.
