One-way latency
One-way latency
In most networks the forward and return transmission routes are not the same. Also, the different policy controls between the source and the destination contribute to increased latency. Conventional methods that measure from one side can only measure round trip latency effectively. Accurate one-way latency measurements are not plausible with these systems. Overcoming this obstacle, the QoS monitoring system can easily measure one-way latency and jitter since IQ1000 probes are placed at each end point of the network.
Passive packet measurement
Passive packet measurement
The QoS IQ1000 probe measures packets that pass from port 1 to port 2 and sends part of the header information from port 3 to QoS manager with an added time stamp. Due to this method, system effects to the network traffic are minimized, and the measurements of the delay time from the actual packet are more accurate.
Reliable Packet Capture
Reliable packet capture

A routine series of packet capture and time stamping is performed by dedicated hardware preventing packet loss.
