SANYO PT (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is engaged in manufacturing of CDMA
2000 mobile phone sets. Our products are exported to various countries—eighty
percent to the USA, ten percent to New Zealand, and five percent each
to Mexico and Canada.
Mr. Goh Hok Peng is a chief engineer in the manufacturing system
engineering department and he has been associated with SANYO Malaysia
for the last thirteen years. He is the person in charge of all testing
equipment used on the production lines. Evaluation, testing, selection,
and configuration of new testing equipment from various manufacturers
is one of his major responsibilities.
The Yokogawa
DL708E Digital Oscilloscope is their most preferred product.
Since 2000, they have procured more than thirty-five units of this
model. The DL708E is used in every production line to measure the
stand-by current of mobile phone sets. This is a very critical part
of testing, and according to Mr. Goh, the DL708E is the most appropriate
and suitable product for this test.
The DL708E is equipped with long record length, a GPIB communication
port, and a built-in printer, which are very useful for this application;
Mr. Goh admires this "product of reliability." He specifically
mentioned that over last four years, only one out of thirty-five
units ever experienced a problem—it was with cooling fan and nothing
was wrong with the main system. He has also expressed great satisfaction
regarding the overall support from Yokogawa Malaysia and Singapore.
