Question:
What is your vision for the future of Kista Science Park?

Right now, only 5% of the people working in the science park live in the Kista region. I want to develop the park so that most people will be able to both live and work within it. To do that we need to build homes, community centers, shops, and restaurants, and create our own little "city." Also, I'm thinking I would like to establish new and different types of universities and research institutes. In fact, we've already started a new music school here. I am very excited about continuing development on the Kista Science Park, and welcoming even more companies to start up operations here.

Question:
To accomplish that development, what kind of assistance can you expect from the government?

We are receiving support from the government to build up basic infrastructure including highways and major thoroughfares. I think we will also need help to be able to build those universities and research facilities I mentioned. Kista Science Park is first and foremost a part of Stockholm city, and we wish to get all the of the various entities within the city involved in the planning. It's as if we're building a whole new city center in Stockholm.

Question:
Last question, what are your expectations for Yokogawa now that it has offices in the park?

First, I sincerely hope that Yokogawa will have much success here. I believe that Yokogawa's success is linked to the future success of other companies such as ERICSSON, NOKIA, and IBM. I'm also hoping that the things Yokogawa achieves here will help it expand even further into the world market. There is no doubt that the wireless world will continue to grow from now on.
