The New Yokogawa Productivity System called NYPS is a foundation philosophy applied throughout Yokogawa and all Yokogawa affiliates. It’s main objective is to improve the productivity, profit, and prosperity of Yokogawa through continuous improvement to eliminate waste. It is a philosophy of working continuously to improve quality, and to reduce lead times, inventory, and cost in everything we do (not just manufacturing).
Two main principles of NYPS are Just-In-Time, continuos-flow manufacturing and Autonomation in which man and machine work together in harmony to produce the required material of the required quantity at the required time to support customer requirements.
The NYPS continuous improvement philosophy strives to create Flow and Rhythm throughout our work process by establishing standard operations, utilizing visual management concepts, one-by-one production, equalized work distribution, pull-driven work flow, and by getting to the root cause of anything that interrupts the smooth flow of work by always asking WHY? five times.
Anything that doesn't add value by contributing to the quality, price, or delivery required by the customer is considered waste and is to be eliminated through the cooperative efforts of all company members.
