WEBFREX3 can flexibly accommodate user systems of any size, ranging from small-scale single-sensor systems for stationary measurement to large-scale film/sheet measurement and control systems that use multiple frames and sensors. When equipment is added on, the WEBFREX3 system can flexibly accommodate production line upgrades; it can operate in a minimum configuration and later be expanded as enhancements are made to the production facility.

WEBFREX3 uses open and highly versatile Ethernet technology to facilitate connections with user systems at the information management, quality/production management, and control levels.
System configuration (example)
A frame is a driving unit on which sensors have been mounted for the scanning of films and sheets. Frames are available in a variety of shapes; depending on what is to be measured and where the system is to be installed, the most appropriate frame type can be selected. Yokogawa can also provide consultation if a non-standard frame is required for a particular location. Frames are built with either highly rigid steel I-beams or rely on a strong monocoque construction that ensures superior performance for the measurement of films and sheets.
Measurement operator stations are interfaces that are used to perform operation and monitor measurements. They are highly reliable and allow operators to understand at a glance what is happening on the production line and make an immediate response.
WEBFREX3 has a variety of easy to use operation and monitoring screens. Operation screens display an easy to comprehend profile showing the frame/sensor status and the thickness measurement data. Operation management screens facilitate the management of various film and sheet grades as well as reporting. With a single mouse click, online guidance screens can be accessed from each of these screens.
Highly accurate beta-ray, x-ray, and infrared sensors are available for a variety of measurement applications. These are non-contact sensors that can measure objects without damaging them.
WEBFREX3 offers a variety of control methods suitable for the various features of film making machines. Our long track record in supplying this technology and our considerable applications know-how enables us provide our users an optimum machine control solution. Reducing the time for the converging of profiles with the standard values is important to prevent materials from being wasted. Optional WEBFREX3 software packages are available that provide profile stack server and real-time 3D profile viewing and analysis functions. These packages can store, display, and analyze profile data for extended periods, and can be used to judge film production quality at a single glance. The integration of this package with a quality rating cutting system helps ensure the efficient and stable production of high quality products.
