We have developed an equipment monitoring system to observe the condition of production equipment. Through network wiring, sensors such as cameras, microphones, and vibration sensors are easily connected to this system so that you can diagnose the condition of the equipment. When constructing this system, Microsoft Windows*4 is used as the operating system to easily tailor this system to each application.

*1 Test & Measurement Business Division

We have developed a digital oscilloscope with a maximum of 8 input channels, a maximum sampling rate of 500 MS/s and a maximum record length of 16 megawords. The multichannel configuration, long-recording memory, powerful analysis functions and excellent operability have enabled users to do efficient troubleshooting. This paper contains an overview of the instrument.

We have developed digital power meters equipped with the voltage fluctuation measurement/flicker meter functions based on IEC1000-3-3. WT2010 is a single-phase model and WT2030 a three-phase model. They succeed to their predecessor models 2531 and 2531A. The flicker meter function is designed in near total compliance with IEC868, enabling evaluation of virtually all kinds of flickers occurring due to voltage fluctuations.

We have developed Model CA100 "Compact CAL", a portable calibrator, having 0.02% accuracy and the resistance generator function. The design objectives were excellent accuracy, the support of essential functions, and easy operation. The calibrator is ideal for maintaining the accuracy of such equipment as converters at an optimum level. In order to calibrate such equipment in the field, we have provided the compact, economical calibrator with the generator function, measurement function and 24-V DC output function.

This paper introduces the functional overview of the CA100 calibrator.

We have developed a blending optimization system which calculates optimum blend ratios, based on values measured in a continuous on-line analysis of product properties, and corrects control setpoints automatically. The system is composed of the EXABPC property control package that calculates optimum blend ratios, a distributed control system (CENTUM CS or CENTUM-XL*2), and next-generation InfraSpec near-infrared analyzers. This paper focuses on the EXABPC and introduces its features, structure, and functions.

*1 Industrial Automation Systems Business Div.

For debugging process control functions in the inspection phase of a DCS application, traditionally system engineers have prepared panels for testing each function, in addition to operation and monitoring test panels. Further effective improvement in engineering efficiency would be if these test panels could be generated easily and automatically. The first two reports in this series introduced the tools for converting an I/O list to a DCS database and for reusing a DCS application. This report introduces the "Test Panel," another effective tool in the inspection phase of DCS application engineering.

This paper describes the structure and characteristics of photodiode modules developed for fiber-optic communications. The modules consist of a highly responsitive GaInAs PIN photodiode with high-speed response, and are assembled using YAG laser welding. A responsivity as high as 0.5 A/W and a cutoff frequency higher than 20 GHz have been achieved at a wavelength of 1.55 mm by using this specially designed module structure.
