Steering Committee Chairman

Prithwijit Ghoshal (PG), is working as a Reliability Engineer – Process Controls, for Koch Nitrogen Company LLC, at their Fort Dodge, IA location. His primary responsibilities pertain to the programming and upkeep of the site's DCS and SIS systems, applications, and associated tasks. His prior experience has been as a Process Engineer for a specialty chemicals plant, and as a Control Systems Engineer for an engineering firm, based in Houston, TX. His specialization during that time was in Batch processing and DCS programming.

He graduated from Oklahoma State University, with an M.S. in Chemical Engineering. This thesis was on Non-linear Regression Modeling.

Lenny Pousson graduated in 1980 from Leon Goudeaux High in Reserve, LA and was hired as a Process Operator at CF Industries in Donaldsonville, LA in 1981.
Lenny was transferred to the DCS Department in 2002 as a DCS Administrator and is responsible for all maintenance and programming of the DCS, SIS, and PLC equipment.

CF began upgrading all of its operation units to CS3000 in 2005 and has completed five units as of 2012. The DCS Administrators are also responsible for assisting engineering and operations with these projects.

Shawn Warren is the president of Classic Controls, Inc. located in Lakeland, FL. They have been the authorized representative for Yokogawa Instrument Products & Systems as well as a Yokogawa Authorized System Integrator for 24 years. He was a founding member of Classic Controls and has been involved in the sales promotion, design, configuration, and start-up of several DCS systems from uXL to the current Centum VP platform. He is equally involved in the sales and support of Yokogawa's complete line of instrument products. They cover the State of Florida and the Caribbean.

Bruce is the principle for BAJ Consulting after retiring from Yokogawa Corporation of America at the end of 2015. At Yokogawa, Bruce was General Manager of the VigilantPlant Solutions Support Center responsible for Technical Marketing, Process Automation Solutions Support, and Product Management for distributed control systems (DCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS), SCADA, and Advanced Application Software for the Industrial Automation market. Previous positions included roles as an advanced control engineer with Applied Automation, Inc., and lead pharmaceutical engineer with Johnson Yokogawa. Other roles included engineering manager and consultant for project justification using Six Sigma methodologies with Yokogawa Corporation of America.

Bruce has an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University. He has eight patents, has authored more than 35 articles including contributing author of 6 sections of the Industrial Engineers Handbook, and has been quoted more than 40 times in industrial magazine articles. Bruce has led or been involved with every North American Yokogawa Users group since its inception in 2000.

Sr Technical Leader - Sensors
Dr. J.D. Tate is the senior technical leader for Dow Chemical’s Process Analytical team- one of the largest of its kind in the industry. Dr. Tate received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Kansas State University. His team is responsible for more than 22,000 on-line analyzers used to control and operate process equipment in harsh, industrial environments. Dr. Tate has more than 26 years of experience in the field and is recognized as an expert in online spectrometry, where his team has installed hundreds of spectral analyzers used to monitor important industrial processes. He has also led several successful research efforts focused at developing and commercializing new analytical technology through collaboration with universities and suppliers. The most recent and notable effort is the commercialization of state-of-the-art tunable diode laser (TDL) analyzers which are recognized as a breakthrough in the petrochemical industry.

Sr. Controls & Automation Engineer, Shell Upstream
Shane is the controls and automation focal point for the Perdido facility in the Gulf of Mexico. Shane has worked on Yokogawa systems since 2004, and has worked for both downstream and upstream operating facilities. Currently his primary responsibility is focused on the run and maintain side of the upstream business.

Shane graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and from the University of New Orleans with an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance.
