Of course without losing the advantages of the existing automation!<\/p>\n<p>M+O stands for Monitoring + Optimisation. Rather than measuring process variables, <a href=\"\/eu\/blog\/chemical-pharma\/?p=10164#gref\">M+O sensors monitor process components<\/a>. They determine whether and how these components change. Whether they are operating in an optimum, low-load and low-wear range \u2013 or in a high-load range that causes a high level of wear.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sushi Sensor: the smallest IIoT trigger<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The first requirement is clever, safe &amp; secure networking coupled with interoperability. The interoperable Sushi Sensors have a standardised interface and uniform data structure. This means the Sushi Sensor documentation contains a detailed representation of the data stream as well as the relevant information. Diverse opportunities for collaboration are opened up in this way. For example with software applications and\/or services of third party suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>Another interoperable highlight of the Sushi Sensors: <strong>Near Field Communication, NFC for short. This is a contactless, radio-assisted connection technology for reading and exchanging information simply over short distances. <\/strong>NFC is a standard technology based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) \u2013 and hence interoperable. No internal power source is needed to transmit information wirelessly over short distances (two to ten centimetres). NFC also ideal when it comes to security \u2013 as it is often one of the most secure authentication methods owing to its unique identification.<\/p>\n<p>Another significant point regarding interoperability of Sushi Sensors is the LoRaWAN\u00ae communication technology. <strong>Thanks to standardisation and an accredited certification system, <a href=\"https:\/\/lora-alliance.org\/in-the-news\/lora-alliancetm-erweitert-das-lorawanr-geratezertifizierungsprogramm-um-die-qualitat\">the LoRa Alliance<sup>TM<\/sup><\/a> provides the interoperability required to scale LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) networks.<\/strong> This makes LoRaWAN\u00ae the first solution for global LPWAN implementations.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sushi Sensor = M+O sensors<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Parallel to this, the Sushi Sensor is based on the requirements for M+O sensors (\u201cMonitoring + Optimisation\u201d) according to NOA (Namur Open Architecture concept), which are currently being formulated by NAMUR. In this respect, M+O sensors are used to monitor and optimise plant components. Completely in contrast to sensors that measure the properties of the process medium.
