What makes an organisation a Great Place to Work? I’d never gotten so into it until I was asked to join the Great Place to Work ambassadors team at Yokogawa<\/a>. It was a great honour for me because the selection criteria were mainly focused on enthusiasm and I’ve been working for this great company in Amersfoort for less than a year.<\/p>\n

Appreciation, trust, and working atmosphere
\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Research shows that a Great Place to Work<\/a> is mainly about when you feel appreciated<\/a> and have confidence in the people you work with. And when you get enough room to develop yourself because of the challenging work. What also makes a difference is whether you are proud of the company you work for and last but not least, a pleasant atmosphere on the work floor that you enjoy working with colleagues. It is the total package that makes an organization stand out as an employer.<\/p>\n

The journey to a Great(er) Place to Work
\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Enough reason for Yokogawa Netherlands to start this exciting journey to a Great(er) Place to Work. And the great thing is that it is carried by the employees themselves. For this reason, the Human Resources Department and Management asked a mixed team of 10 enthusiasts from hundreds of employees. And that makes me one of them! How cool is that . Together we are the ambassador group that supports Yokogawa to turn this beautiful company into a Great(er) Place to Work.<\/p>\n

Mmm… fresh smoothies and a compliments week<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We started in the autumn of 2019 and we have already organised a few fun actions. For example, we made 300 fresh smoothies, because health is important to this Japanese company. There has been a compliments week to remind each other that it is nice to regularly give your colleagues a sincere compliment. During the day of love – Happy Valentine’s Day – we delighted our colleagues with heart candy because they are TOP. And oh yes, of course we had to make an inventory of where we stand as a company, so to promote the Trust Index we handed out fruit and organised a competition: the two departments that first had the 85% and 100% participation scores won a Great Place to Work pie and a team lunch. In short, we’re on a roll!<\/p>\n
