Por donde se lo mire, el gas y el petr\u00f3leo son recursos limitados. \u00bfQu\u00e9 pasa si sus reservas se agotan? A\u00f1o tras a\u00f1o, visitan conferencias y exposiciones, escuchan presentaciones de proveedores de tecnolog\u00edas, leen revistas especializadas, etc. en b\u00fasqueda de la respuesta definitiva.<\/p>\n<h2>El factor del yacimiento petrol\u00edfero<\/h2>\n<p>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es el factor del yacimiento? Normalmente, en alg\u00fan momento del d\u00eda, los operadores cierran el stock y el flujo que cada instalaci\u00f3n de yacimiento petrol\u00edfero fue capaz de producir. Del mismo modo, hacen un c\u00e1lculo del flujo estimado que cada pozo que reporta a esa instalaci\u00f3n puede haber contribuido. Para determinar este flujo estimado existen diversos m\u00e9todos. El cociente entre la producci\u00f3n de la instalaci\u00f3n de superficie y los pozos que le reportan, es el \u201cfactor del yacimiento\u201d. En los yacimientos con bajos niveles de instrumentaci\u00f3n, y con escasos m\u00e9todos de medici\u00f3n de pozos y mecanismos de control, estos factores pues en estar a 0.9 o incluso mucho menos (como 0.8 o 0.75). La mayor parte de esta diferencia es atribuible a las denominadas \u201cp\u00e9rdidas no localizadas\u201d, es decir, la producci\u00f3n que se esperaba tener en la instalaci\u00f3n de superficie, pero que en \u00faltima instancia no se pudo tener. \u00bfCu\u00e1l es la raz\u00f3n de las p\u00e9rdidas no localizadas? Como bien dice su nombre, \u201cperdidas no localizadas\u201d, aun no se ha podido localizar la raz\u00f3n de estas p\u00e9rdidas.<\/p>\n<h2>El santo grial de la medici\u00f3n de pozos<\/h2>\n<p>Si pudi\u00e9ramos detectar las causas de estas diferencias y atacarlas a tiempo, podr\u00edamos tener en la instalaci\u00f3n de superficie pr\u00e1cticamente toda la producci\u00f3n que se esperaba tener. \u00bfNo ser\u00eda maravilloso esto? Estas p\u00e9rdidas no localizadas provocan p\u00e9rdidas millonarias a las compa\u00f1\u00edas, y durante toda la historia de la industria del gas y petr\u00f3leo, las compa\u00f1\u00edas se han preocupado por encontrar una soluci\u00f3n definitiva.<\/p>\n<p>Para lograr esto, el pozo debe estar medido correctamente. Y cuando decimos correctamente no es solo en t\u00e9rminos de precisi\u00f3n sino tambi\u00e9n en t\u00e9rminos de frecuencia.<\/p>\n<p>Continuamente hay m\u00e1s y mejores soluciones para una mejor medici\u00f3n de pozos y de esta manera contribuir a la reducci\u00f3n del factor de yacimiento y perdidas no localizadas. Sin embargo, no parece existir todav\u00eda una soluci\u00f3n \u00fanica y eficiente, es el Santo Grial de la medici\u00f3n de pozos.<\/p>\n<p>Tampoco se sabe, como el Santo Grial, si la tan esperada soluci\u00f3n ser\u00eda la soluci\u00f3n a todos los problemas del factor de yacimiento, perdidas no localizadas, necesidades de producci\u00f3n y necesidades de reservas.
