How would you describe your job and role at Yokogawa?
As a global IT Business Analyst, I work on a challenging and innovative roadmap aligned with our TF2020 mission, through which I get in contact with all functional domains of the company, the architecture, the technical aspects of the applications and the employees as well as our external partners. My job is to invent the technical future within a motivated team and to deliver the necessary expertise to our colleagues from different business units and project teams.

What is the most remarkable thing you have done at Yokogawa so far?
Yokogawa HQ in Tokyo offered me the opportunity to be part of one of their biggest global digitalization initiatives. Leading people of this initiative told me that in order to achieve things they have never had, they need people who are able to do things they have never done. With that mindset, our team was able to as example, develop and deploy a global application to digitalize our quality assurance procedures and there is much more to come still.

Yokogawa values 'quality of life' for their employees. How do you experience that in real life?
I have the feeling that in our company, people are looking for more than just results in figures. There are a lot of initiatives focused on improving the work environment, mental status, physical activities, etc. Starting from our HQ in Tokyo, where a so-called Pilot Floor is created with different kind of zones to relax, focus or meet with your colleagues. You really do feel how these initiatives inspire all other affiliates and that the same values are shared, globally.

Why should talented people consider Yokogawa as a potential new employer?
I can honestly share that at Yokogawa employee’s opinion is valued and people do listen. The first lesson I have received from an important and respected manager in Tokyo was "Mathias, we are all dinosaurs and we rely on the new generation. Speak up, don't be quiet.". He taught me that it is always appreciated when you share your opinion in a calm and professional way.
