Yokogawa takes part in Hydrohub MegaWatt Test Centre

Today the project core-team celebrated the official letter of participation of Yokogawa in the Hydrohub MegaWatt Test Centre research project. The MegaWatt Test Centre will research optimization and flexibilization of water electrolysers (PEM and alkaline) for production of hydrogen with renewable energy.

Yokogawa’s contribution will be material and engineering for supervisory control and process safety of the installations. Furthermore Yokogawa hopes to increase knowledge and contribute to advanced control for more efficient ramp-up and ramp-down and safe operation at low load rate;
these are important items when running electrolysers on renewable electricity because of it’s intermittent nature.

The MegaWatt Test Centre is a project of the Institute for Sustainable Process Technology. Other consortium members are: Nouryon, Yara, Shell, ECN part of TNO, Frames, Gasunie, Groningen Seaports, Universiteit Groningen and Hanzehogeschool Groningen.
