YOKOGAWA is working on the development of single cell mass spectrometry and single cell gene analysis.  In order to analyze one cell with high sensitivity, we are developing a method of collecting target cells while keeping position information under observing cells with confocal scanner.

YOKOGAWA aims to cost reductions and improve safety by providing a structure and data-management platform for unified management of information related to cellular and regenerative therapies.

Yokogawa is contributing to the development of the pharmaceutical industry based on its performance of introducing over 1,000 systems in the areas of drug substances, pharmaceutical products, and biotechnology.

In addition to daily improvement cycles, Yokogawa will use IIoT to support create environments that do not cause defects and that are designed to completely reduce losses.

Life Innovation Business Headquarters’ contribution towards the fight against Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

In April 2018, Yokogawa established the Life Innovation Business Headquarters with the goal of promoting well-being for all. In addition to engaging in our existing life science and manufacturing solutions businesses targeting the pharmaceutical and food industries, the headquarters works to develop new products and services and provides one-stop solutions that revolutionize productivity throughout the pharmaceutical and food industry value chain, from basic research to manufacturing, logistics, and services.

Yokogawa has more than 30 years’ experience in the life science field. The CSU spinning disk confocal scanner series is our core strength, and over 3,000 units have been sold globally. Other products, including a live cell imaging system, a high-content analysis system and single cell analysis solution also support leading life science studies. In the field of manufacturing solutions, over 1,000 Yokogawa manufacturing, production, and quality management systems and control systems have been introduced in the pharmaceutical industry.

In response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Yokogawa has been taking various measures to prevent transmission of the virus while working to minimize the impact on customers. We are also contributing to the fight against COVID-19 by collaborating with research institutes globally and supporting research to develop new medication or vaccines. Yokogawa will continue to work with customers and business partners in an effort to resolve the crisis society is facing.

In August 2017, Yokogawa announced its long-term sustainability goals (Three Goals) for the year 2050. Yokogawa established these goals to contribute to achieving Net-zero emissions, Circular economy and Well-being. In April 2018, Yokogawa strengthened the business structure of its life innovation business with the aim of achieving one of these goals, well-being.

Uniformizer, a new flat-top beam shaper for CSU-W1 & Introduction to new approach for single cell analysis

Yokogawa continues to make improvements to provide the best products for biology researchers. So far, CSU has fulfilled the researchers' wish to take images fast, wide, clear and in super-resolution. This time, we will introduce the new option “Uniformizer” of our product “CSU-W1”. This unit uniformizes the laser illumination and enables quantitative imaging. This provides a large seamless montage image between each field. Furthermore, Yokogawa also takes new challenge for the next field, which is single cell analysis. As a trial, it had prototyped automated single cell sampling system, and it has possible to investigate the molecular characterization of each single cell. This tech talk will introduce 1) ”Uniformizer” and 2) new approach for single cell analysis, which could perform with confocal microscopy.
