Yokogawa China Receives CIS Science and Technology Award for Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Solution

Tokyo, Japan - October 21, 2015

Yokogawa China Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric Corporation has received a Science and Technology Award from the China Instrument and Control Society (CIS)* for the development of an Intelligent Manufacturing Technology solution for the petrochemical industry.

The award was presented on September 22 in a ceremony that was conducted at the 26th International Conference and Fair for Measurement Instrumentation and Automation (Miconex 2015), a CIS-sponsored event in Chongqing, China.

The CIS Science and Technology Award was established by the National Office for the Science & Technology Awards and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, and is considered to be highly prestigious and influential. Yokogawa China was the sole subsidiary of an overseas-based company to receive this honor.

Yokogawa China supplies a wide range of solutions including oil movement systems, tank automation systems, and simulators to refineries and petrochemical complexes owned by China's major petrochemical companies that help to improve production efficiency and profitability. Yokogawa will continue to deliver high-value added solutions in China and contribute to its customers' growth.

* The China Instrument and Control Society (CIS) is a registered academic and public nonprofit organization made up of professionals from the measurement & control and instrumentation science & technology fields who participate on a voluntary basis. The CIS is an important voice on topics related to the development of measurement & control and instrumentation science & technology. It was founded on March 29, 1979.
