Employees of Yokogawa Corporation of America joined Junior Achievement in the Fall of 2017 and Spring of 2018, for the third year in a row to help mentor children in local schools learn how to succeed in a global economy. Volunteers introduced fourth and fifth grade students to work readiness through hands-on class room activities. The program provides students with practical information about the nation's free market system and how it serves as an economic engine for businesses and careers.

The Coweta Industrial Fellowship for Teachers (CIFT)

The Coweta Industrial Fellowship for Teachers (CIFT) is an externship program that gives Coweta teachers the opportunity to work in local manufacturing businesses to gain a better understanding of the types of jobs available in Coweta County and the skills required to attain those jobs. The Coweta High School Teacher received hands-on experience working alongside employees at all levels of manufacturing at Yokogawa Corporation of America.

This summer the company also hosted a teacher from Spalding County through the Georgia Intern Fellowship for Teachers (GIFT) Program. Georgia Institute of Technology's GIFT provides paid summer STEM internships in industry workplaces and university laboratories for K-12 science, mathematics, and technology teachers. The purpose of the GIFT program is to improve mathematics and science instruction at the pre-college level. The teacher spent six weeks rotating through all of our operations in Newnan.
