AR and VR offer enormous potential – including for the process industry

#BLOG Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality – even if their exact meaning is certainly not familiar to everyone, today at least everyone should have heard of these two terms before. And this mostly in connection with video games like #Pokémon Go, #TV and movies. Or perhaps with a view to architecture, sports, medicine, navigation, (flight and driving) simulation, learning, art, photography, or entertainment in general.
But both augmented and virtual reality have long since found their way into the (process) #industry. There, they are used in industrial applications, maintenance, medicine, learning or #work safety. #AR #VR #AugmentedRealitiy #VirtualReality #automation #security #safety

International Women’s Day was a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce one of our employees and see what she and the industry are up to. A lot has changed for the better over the years. But what about women working in traditionally male-dominated fields like the process industry? Has their situation really changed as radically as we imagine? And how have the changes impacted on Yokogawa?

PAT-Demonstrator – NOA is the ideal partner

Where NOA comes into play: If process analysis technology delivers more and more complex data and experience sometimes requires changes, then we need an additional piece of intelligence. This is not properly stored in the analyzer. Because the type of intelligence is also determined by the process. In the control system, the additional data becomes tight; changes are possible there, but not necessarily popular. A separate software, for example in the form of an app, frees us from these restrictions and gives us the necessary flexibility for specific adaptations.

Third column of Dr. Andreas Helget

BLOG / In his third column, Dr. Andreas Helget, Managing Director of Yokogawa Germany, deals with the topic of sustainability in the chemistry sector. It is an open secret that in view of the immense consumption of raw materials in this industry, the “key” to the future of sustainable chemistry is being feverishly sought. What role biomass, i.e. (micro)algae, play in this context can be read here.
