The TS6000 is a leading-edge system designed to test today's very large-scale integration circuits that are increasingly being improved in functionality, performance, and power consumption. The per-pin architecture adopted in the logic function test and DC measurement circuitry drastically improves flexibility in pin condition settings, reduces development time of the test program, and dramatically slashes DC test time through the synchronous application of voltages to and measurement of voltages at multiple pins. A TS6000 can be configured with up to 512 pins per test head and simultaneously measure four VLSI circuits with up to 128 pins, thus allowing high-throughput yet flexible testing. This paper introduces the configuration and functions of the TS6000, and technologies incorporated in it.
TS6700 LCD DRIVER TEST SYSTEM

The TS6700 LCD driver test system has been developed to satisfy the strong market requirement for higher performance per cost and to cope with today's LCD drivers that are integrating more functions and are becoming even more diversified. The per-pin architecture adopted in the input/output pins and in the LCD pin measurement functions drastically reduces the test time. In addition, its capability of measuring two devices per test head further improves performance per cost. To meet another market trend of increasing the number of driver pins, the functions handling those pins were optimized so that the TS6700 can test up to 736 LCD driver pins.

With the aim of realizing a significant test time reduction with today's image sensors that incorporate a megapixel charge-coupled device (CCD) and advanced CMOS image sensor (CIS), we have developed a series of image sensor test systems that offer simultaneous testing of two devices, fast mixed signal testing, concurrent image data transmission and processing, and reduced system noise. These advanced features of the TS6600 series can slash the test time to one fourth of the former model.
CONTROL FUNCTIONS OF CENTUM CS 3000

*1 Industrial Automation Business Headquarters
The basic control functions installed in the CENTUM CS 3000 Field Control Station have been newly developed. High functionality and easy engineering has been realized through the implementation of the acknowledged control functions of the CENTUM CS and expanding the interoperability of communication functions with various field control equipment. Moreover, the efficiency of debugging large-scale applications has been greatly improved by expanding the "Virtual Test Function" originally developed for CS 1000, which uses the FCS simulator of Windows NT.

We have developed the Human Interface Software (HIS) as a software package for the CENTUM CS 3000 which is Yokogawa's distributed control system (DCS) for large-scale plants. The HIS, based on Windows NT*2, features both the functionality provided by the human-machine interface of a conventional DCS and the usability demonstrated by Windows-based operation. With such functions as window hierarchy, graphic data binding and the restoration of message summary data, we are able to offer a very friendly operation and monitoring environment to users. In the field of hardware products, we have developed a console-type platform that is an operation and monitoring machine dedicated to the CENTUM CS 3000.

GD SERIES VIBRATORY GAS DENSITY METERS
- SUZUKI Jun-ichi*1
*1 Industrial Automation Business Headquarters
We have developed the GD series vibratory gas density meters, each of which is designed for a specific application. The series offers three main applications: a gas density meter, gas calorie meter, and hydrogen purity meter. A hydrogen purity meter, the latest addition to the GD series, has been designed for hydrogen gas concentration monitoring in the turbine cooling process at power plants. It indicates the concentrations of three gases -- hydrogen (H2), carbon dioxide (CO2), and air -- and, by itself alone, accomplishes the tasks which have traditionally required two thermal-conductivity gas calorie meters. In respect to performance, the series offers improved characteristics against external vibration, noise, and temperature changes. The vibrator is supported by four O-rings, which completely absorb external vibration and the influence of noise has been greatly reduced by incorporating many filters in the electric circuit. Furthermore, software updates have improved the accuracy of temperature compensation.
UT100 SERIES OF TEMPERATURE CONTROLLERS

We have developed the UT100 series of temperature controllers. In contrast to the existing Green series of digital indicating controllers which can cover a wide range of process control, the UT100 series controllers are low priced and are intended mainly for temperature control. The UT100 controller is a traditional PID controller that features the newly developed auto-turning control function, Omakase, which permits optimum control with the same degree of ease as operating a thermostat. Moreover, in spite of being a low price controller, the models of the UT100 series have a variety of functions including a universal power supply, universal input, PID control, ON/OFF control, heating/cooling control, and optional communication capability.
This paper describes the main specifications, Omakase (auto-turning control function), cost-saving design, and how to produce a variety of products in a short leadtime.
