LI Blog: Thanks for joining the interview, Norbert. Could you briefly introduce yourself?

Norbert Eckholt: Certainly! I’m originally from Aachen, where I studied Electronics at RWTH, graduating in 1986. My career began with Zymark in Boston, a pioneer in benchtop robotics. Starting as a service engineer, I transitioned into sales, gaining invaluable experience. As CEO, I’ve led companies like Nexus GmbH and Remp GmbH, building a vast drug discovery and compound management network. My involvement as a founder of ELRIG Germany and an attendee at SLAS in the US and Europe are some of the highlights of my career.

The Role of a Sales Manager

LI Blog: As a Sales Manager, what are your main tasks?

Norbert Eckholt: My role involves developing and implementing sales strategies to meet Yokogawa’s goals. This includes setting targets, creating sales plans, and identifying new business opportunities. A significant part of my job is managing customer relationships, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions. Additionally, I analyze sales data for insights and leverage my extensive network to further Yokogawa’s reach.

LI Blog: Why should customers decide to buy the SS2000?

Norbert Eckholt: The SS2000 stands out for its unique capability in intracellular sampling, such as isolating single cells or specific intracellular components like nuclei or mitochondria. It’s a 2-in-1 system, combining sampling and high-content imaging. This allows users to obtain detailed morphological and spatial data. For example, one user employed it to sample and compare genetic information of individual cell nuclei using advanced sequencing technologies.
