October 28, 2005 Yokogawa Wins Oil Movement System Contract with the Netherlands Refining Company (Nerefco) Yokogawa Electric Corporation is proud to announce that Yokogawa System Center Europe has been awarded a lump sum contract by the Netherlands Refining Company (Nerefco) in Europoort, The Netherlands, to replace the current off-site control system with a fit-for-purpose system. The Nerefco refinery is one of Europe’s largest in terms of crude oil refining capacity and is strategically located at one of the world’s busiest oil trading ports. With their capacity for handling 50 million tons of oil products per year, Nerefco’s off-site facilities are key to supporting plant operations and trading activities, and are a distinctive source of value for the site. This contract is for the development, configuration, installation, and startup of an off-sites control system that includes a distributed control system (DCS), safeguarding, fire & gas detection, oil movement management, planning support, and truck/railcar terminal automation systems. The solution will utilize Yokogawa’s class-leading CENTUM CS 3000 R3 Integrated Production Control System, ProSafe-RS Emergency Shutdown System and Fire & Gas Detection Safety System, and Yokogawa’s Oil Movement Management System and Terminal Automation System for truck and railcar loading. Mr. P.J. Wattel, Project Manager commented, “The reasons why we selected Yokogawa is the quality of the Yokogawa solutions, the proven expertise of Yokogawa and its staff in the field of off-site control, and the confidence that Yokogawa is a reliable partner for working together with the site contractor Jacobs Engineering and Nerefco on a project in which we share one common goal: making sure that the future off-site facilities help Nerefco achieve or even exceed expectations in the fields of reliability, operability, maintainability and safety ” About The Netherlands Refining Company b.v.
