The Yokogawa Model TA320 Time Interval Analyzer provides the following solutions for this application.
- Measurement of time difference between data and clock
Various phase margins of binar-ized signals against the regeneration clock in DVD or CD-ROM are sampled and statistically processed (up to 108 samples). Since a jitter value for measurement of the time difference between the data and clock is specified as 8% in the DVD-ROM standards, this measuring method is used for production line inspections.
- Pulse width measurement (Measurement of jitters for each pulse width)
Conventional jitter meters measure the jitter value for the recording length 3T while the Yokogawa TA320 Time Interval Analyzer monitors jitter values for recording lengths other than 3T individually. Jitter values must be measured for each recording length in order to evaluate media mastering accuracy and equivalent circuits.
- Optical Disk Jitter Analysis Software (704216)
This Optical Disk Jitter Analysis Software quantitatively analyzes the jitter, discrepancies from the ideal average (deviation) and various other items in every recording length. This is done by acquiring data from an optical disk as measured by the TA320, or TA520 in a personal computer.
