We develop and manufacture power conditioners and cogeneration systems that convert solar power to commercial power for use in general home electronics, as well as the protective relays necessary for interconnections in those systems. Our work focues on technologies that can contribute to the development of new energy resources. My department is responsible for everything from design to implementation for production equipment used for assembly and inspection during the manufacturing process.
To guarantee quality, we need a high-precision power meter to accurately measure voltage, current, and power during inspection. When we were surveying the market for such power meters that can measure with high precision, we encountered the WT2000 Digital Power Meter and immediately decided to purchase it.
One main reason was that the WT2000 can simultaneously display voltage, current, power, and integrated power, thereby allowing us to immediately confirm our data. Furthermore, we can output data from a PC using communications functions (GP-IB or RS-232C), and analyze harmonics with the harmonic measurement function.
By bringing in theWT2000 we could acheive the goals we set for our inspection equipment including automation, improving accuracy and reliability of measurements, and enabling quantitative judgments. For judgements based on power values and other factors, the basic accuracy of the power meter is critical. The WT2000 achieves high-precision measurements with its basic accuracy of +/- 0.08%. Therefore we use it not only for judgment but also as a standard, and for adjusting voltage and current generators.
