Yokogawa Electric Corporation (TOKYO:6841) announces that it has joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). By joining this organization, Yokogawa will be able to accelerate its efforts to foster sustainability and thereby help to achieve the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Overview
WBCSD is a CEO-led organization of almost 200 global companies that aims to have a positive impact on business, the environment, and society by encouraging the pursuit of sustainable practices. In so doing, it aims to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world and ensure the long-term success of its member companies.
The decision to join this organization is driven by an awareness of the need for a response to the pressing environmental issues that we all face. By working to achieve the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources and introducing practices such as recycling, we can play a role in ensuring a more sustainable future for all. We believe that our membership in this organization will allow us to develop a better grasp of global market trends and develop tools and other solutions that businesses can use to enhance their sustainability.
