Yokogawa Engineering Asia, a subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, is awarded the “2008 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Distributed Control System (DCS) Company of the Year” Award for the outstanding performance of its DCS across the Asia Pacific region.
Frost & Sullivan recognizes Yokogawa as the DCS Company of the Year for its high market share in the Asia Pacific DCS market, due to its high quality engineering support and service, competitive price and strong customer base. Yokogawa’s ability to provide high value-added solutions that satisfy the evolving needs of customers, to capitalize on opportunities in the Asia Pacific market, to contribute unique capabilities and its involved presence in the Asia Pacific market also contributed to this success.
Frost & Sullivan acknowledges that Yokogawa, as a company, has been actively engaged in developing businesses in control, measurement and information, and established in 1915, Yokogawa is growing explosively in Asia Pacific in the field of automation and control solutions.
In April this year, Frost & Sullivan awarded five Yokogawa group of companies with six prestigious Market Leadership Awards for Distributed Control System (DCS) for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, and Market Leadership Awards for DCS and Automation, and Software for Thailand.
“Yokogawa is honoured to receive this Award. This endorsement by Frost & Sullivan and by the market, clearly affirms Yokogawa’s commitment to customers’ excellence. Yokogawa’s leadership position is the result of our continuous investment in research & development, dedicated personnel and our unwavering lifecycle operation support to customers. We are grateful for their trust and confidence in Yokogawa. We will continue to be their dependable partner of choice and provide innovative solutions for the industry in the years to come,” said Mr Kersi Aspar, Executive Vice President, Yokogawa Engineering Asia.
He added, “We are also confident that our leadership position will be strengthened with the newly launched CENTUM VP, a new integrated production control system that goes beyond the traditional DCS functions to deliver operational excellence solutions to our customers for achieving a safe, reliable and profitable plant.”
Yokogawa introduced the first DCS, called CENTUM, in 1975 and since then it has passed many state-of-the-art generations. In February this year, Yokogawa launched the 8th generation DCS, CENTUM VP, a new integrated production control system that will become the flagship platform for the VigilantPlant Operational Excellence initiative. CENTUM VP redefines the role of DCS by going beyond the traditional DCS function of controlling and monitoring a plant. CENTUM VP offers a unified operating environment by integrating plant information management, asset management, and operation support.
