Yokogawa’s leadership position is the result of our continuous investment in
research & development, dedicated personnel and our unwavering lifecycle
operation support to customers. We are grateful for their trust and confidence
in Yokogawa. We will continue to be their dependable partner of choice and
provide innovative solutions for the industry in the years to come,” said Mr
Kersi Aspar, Executive Vice President, Yokogawa Engineering Asia.
He added, “We
are also confident that our leadership position will be strengthened with the
newly launched CENTUM VP, a new integrated production control system that goes
beyond the traditional DCS functions to deliver operational excellence solutions
to our customers for achieving a safe, reliable and profitable plant.”
Yokogawa
introduced the first DCS, called CENTUM, in 1975 and since then it has passed
many state-of-the-art generations. In February this year, Yokogawa launched the
8th generation DCS, CENTUM VP, a new integrated production control system that
will become the flagship platform for the VigilantPlant Operational Excellence
initiative. CENTUM VP redefines the role of DCS by going beyond the traditional
DCS function of controlling and monitoring a plant. CENTUM VP offers a unified
operating environment by integrating plant information management, asset
management, and operation support.
