A Yokogawa Employee Receives the IEC1906 Award for the Third Year in a Row

Tokyo, Japan - September 12, 2025

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that David Board, an employee of Yokogawa United Kingdom Limited, has received the IEC1906 Award from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This award is given by the IEC to individuals who have made significant contributions to the standardization activities of electrical and electronic technologies at IEC. This is the third consecutive year that a Yokogawa employee has received this award.

Mr. Board has contributed to the development of multiple standards, including being co-convenor of IEC 63303, an international standard for human-machine interfaces for process automation systems, convenor of IEC 61512, an international standard for batch control systems, and project lead for IEC 63661, an international standard on procedure automation for continuous process operations at IEC/TC65, the IEC technical committee responsible for the standardization of industrial process measurement and control. Mr. Board has also been recognized for his active international standardization activities, including being the convenor of the IoT foundational standards working group in the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41 expert committee that is responsible for international standards for the Internet of Things and Digital Twin, and the convenor for the working group writing a technical specification for post market testing of brain-computer interfaces*1 in the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 43 expert committee, which is responsible for the development of international standards for brain-computer interfaces in non-medical fields.

Yokogawa will continue to actively participate in international standardization activities and contribute to the development of industry.

*1 Brain-computer interface technology that directly connects the brain and the machine, enabling the transmission and manipulation of information based on thought and intention.
