Introduction
Yokogawa UK offers calibration services that are carried out by qualified professional
engineers to assist in the operation and quality control of processes that
incorporate Yokogawa instrumentation and third party manufacturers’ products.
These calibrations are carried out in accordance with international standards
laid down by the relevant industrial governing bodies.
|
|
What is calibration?
|
|
Calibration is the comparing of a measurement device
(an unknown) against an established standard. The
standard measurement is considered to be the
reference, and is taken to be the correct value of the
two in comparison. The calibration process indicates
how far the unknown is from the standard.
Yokogawa Technical Services offers calibration across
a wide range of instrumentation, from pressure and
flow through to analytical equipment. These calibrations
guarantee the highest accuracy and traceability to
international standards, to comply with regulatory bodies.

 |
|
Why do users need calibration?
|
|
As equipment becomes more complex and schedules
more demanding, users need to maximise plant
efficiency and cost benefits Calibration can ensure
success in achieving these dual objectives.
With guaranteed turnaround times, users can plan their
maintenance effectively to minimise downtime.
All Yokogawa’s calibrations are traceable to international
standards, providing assurance to users for the
safe and continual running of their businesses.
Calibration certificates are supplied for all instrumentation
tested, with detail of the traceable test equipment
used. All Yokogawa’s reference equipment is certified
once a year as a minimum, to international standards.
|
|
Temperature calibration
|
|
A range of temperature calibration facilities includes
RTD and thermocouple inputs using traceable injection
equipment and controlled heat baths where required.
Calibrations can be performed on Yokogawa instrumentation
as well as RTDs, thermocouples and temperature
transmitters from various other manufacturers.
|
|
Flow calibration
|
|
Off-site: calibration for complete flowmeters is
available at the company’s flow calibration installation
in Germany.
|
|
Analytical calibration
|
|
Yokogawa can offer a range of analytical on-site
calibrations to comply with all environmental and
process-control conditions, including:
pH
eH/redox
specific conductivity (including USP24)
inductive conductivity
zirconia oxygen/humidity analysis
dissolved oxygen
|
 |
|
Control-room product calibration
|
|
Calibrations can be performed not only on Yokogawa
instrumentation but also chart recorders or data acquisition
systems from various other manufacturers.
|
|
Pressure calibration
|
On-site: calibration checks from -1 to 20 barG using a
portable pressure injection system. The equipment
can be used in hazardous and non-hazardous areas.
Off-site:calibration checks from -50 to 300 barG in
environmentally controlled laboratories.
Calibrations can be performed on Yokogawa instrumentation
as well as pressure and level transmitters from
various other manufacturers.
|
|
Channel I/O simulation calibration
|
|
Various types of inputs and outputs can be simulated
using traceable test equipment, including 4–20 mA,
1-5 V, millivolts, resistance and frequency.

|
Tailor-made calibration contracts to suit
user needs
|
Yokogawa provides a range of complete maintenance
solutions including calibration contracts that offer
extended warranty cover of instruments including
repair, parts, labour and routine calibration.
Many customers have long-term contracts covering
many years, allowing Yokogawa to build relationships,
to gain an insight into users’ business needs, and to
‘fine tune’ the service to provide an optimum outcome
for customers.
To all customers, Yokogawa provides technical engineering
support with personal service to allow the
efficient operation of their business.
