We have developed a solid relay (SSR) with low output capacitance for use in analog LSI test systems. A lateral type DMOS FET was fabricated on a silicon substrate with very low concentration to realize low output capacitance. Drift channel length and drain radius in the drift channel region were optimized to minimize junction capacitance. The drain wire bonding pad was located on the drain junction area to minimize parasitic capacitance.

The SSR was assembled from a DMOS FET with drift channel length Lg=15mm and drain radius Rd=30mm, a photovoltanic diode array, and LED in a 6 pin SOP package.

A low-output-capacitance SSR with a breakdown voltage of 200V, on-resistance of 180W, and an output capacitance of 2pF was realized.

We have developed new pressure sensor mSP series of plastic molding package. It has four types of the pressure range; 1, 10, 100 kPa, and 1 Mpa gauge pressure. As the method of detecting pressure, the shearing type silicon piezo-resistive gauge is adopted. The driver circuit chip is mounted together with the pressure sensor chip in this package. This chip, correcting the temperature change of the sensor sensitivity, makes the steady operation possible from a low current of 0.5 mA to 1 mA over the range of -40 to +80°C. On the other hand, as the design of this mold package, a ditch is formed around the sensor chip not to transmit the stress of transformation of the package by impressed pressure and outside force.

Moreover, the mold type pressure sensor is achieved at a lower price than the conventional CAN type package. This sensor is suitable for measuring the air pressure in various applications such as air-conditioning equipments, FA equipments, and semiconductor manufacturing devices.

In this paper, the structure and characteristics of the sensor series are described.

Using the latest digital sampling technology, we have developed the WT1000 series of broad-bandwidth digital power meters which can measure DC and AC signals at frequencies ranging from 0.5 Hz to 300 kHz. These models especially feature fast response, excellent accuracy and versatile functionality for motor testing. The WT1010 is a single-phase model; both the WT1030 and WT1030M are three-phase models, with the latter having a motor-characterizing capability. This paper presents an overview of these digital power meters.

We have developed Model TA320 Time Interval Analyzer which features a 100-ps time resolution, 300-ps rms internal jitter, and 14-MS/s continuous sampling rate. The analyzer has been developed along the design concepts of inexpensiveness, compactness and easy operation. The TA320 analyzer is equipped with such functions as a multiwindow to meet the needs of the optical-disk market.

In addition, the analyzer has generous statistical-calculation data items that are useful for signal analyses from different angles of view.

We have developed a new software package, Valve Pattern Monitor, for CENTUM CS. Valve Pattern Monitor is a function block which monitors the open/close status of valves in a transfer system in a plant. Valve Pattern Monitor facilitates development of an application program for monitoring a valve's status and executing emergency stop actions in response to an abnorm ality in the valve's status

NEW HMI IN CENTUM CS - PICS

  • KONISHI Nobuaki*1

*1 Industrial Automation Systems Division

PICS (PC-based Information and Command Station) which utilizes personal computers (PCs) has been developed as a new human-machine interface (HMI) in CENTUM CS. The concepts of PICS are to:
(1) To keep the high reliability of the software with the same architecture as EWS/ICS.
(2) T0 use the PC's CPU performance effectively which progresses dramatically.
(3) To expand the application with an improvement in flexibility.

We have developed a new range of temperature controllers called the Green series. The whole series, which ranges from the low-end 300 series to the mid-range 500 series and high-end 700 series which is equipped with additional applications such as custom computation functions and dual-loop control capabilities, is developed based on common specifications.

This paper describes the pre-configured control strategy (UT mode) on the 500 series and 700 series and the communication protocols (PC link communication, ladder communication and coordinated operation) available over the entire series.
