To realize Operational Excellence, a core concept of VigilantPlant, the System Integration OPC Station (SIOS) has been greatly improved in CENTUM CS 3000 R3 R3.08. The combination of the CS 3000 and STARDOM FCN/FCJ is an “Integration Revolution” that enables entire plants and other sites to have the same look and feel in their user interfaces.

Same look and feel in CS 3000 HIS utility control and monitoring windows

On October 27, 2006, we released a new solution that integrates the control and monitoring of utilities at geographically distributed sites with CENTUM CS 3000 R3.08 and STARDOM R1.86. Via the SIOS, all data from each system can be displayed with the same look and feel on CS 3000 Human Interface Station (HIS) windows. And with the Consolidated Alarm Management Software for Human Interface Station (CAMS for HIS), all alarm management is integrated. With this enhancement, central controls are secured using the CS 3000 on the Vnet/IP control network. Furthermore, utility control and monitoring have adapted for the STARDOM FCN/FCJ autonomous controllers, with the benefit of network expandability using existing network infrastructure.

SIOS FCN/FCJ NPAS POUs, which are equivalent to the CS 3000 function blocks, can be operated and monitored using faceplates or tuning windows on the CS 3000 HIS. CAMS for HIS FCN/FCJ system alarms and NPAS POU process alarms are consolidated on the CENTUM CS 3000 HIS. A single alarm window for the CS 3000, STARDOM, and PRM Consolidated alarm operation / system differences are transparent to operators

Enhancement of Modbus Communication Package

A redundant network can be configured for the STARDOM FCN/FCJ without additional programming. LFS2453 Modbus Communication Package (ALE111) LFS9153 Modbus Communication Package (ALR111, ALR121)

In addition to OPC DA 2.0, the FCN/FCJ OPC Server for Windows supports OPC compliant OPC A&E 1.10. The A&E function provides alarm and event notification from FCN/FCJ autonomous controllers to OPC Foundation Compliant OPC clients. The newly released CAMS for HIS is also compliant with this function.
