Career stories - Tim Landsmeer

“The flexibility, when needed, and the trust in me to do my work from far, are key values that directly contribute to my work-life balance and quality of life.”

How would you describe your job and role at Yokogawa?
As a Project Manager, I am a spider in the web of highly skilled and educated, multi-functional and multi-national project team members. Together with my team of experts, ranging from Project Controller and Buyer to Hardware and Software (Lead) Engineers, we aim to create value for our customers. We deal with a variety of stakeholders, from internal department managers to demanding international clients that have different perspectives.
Looking back at the end of a project and feeling proud of the achievement, where the bigger the challenge leads to a higher satisfaction. This makes my professional heartbeat and that’s why I enjoy project management at Yokogawa.

What is the most remarkable thing you have done at Yokogawa so far?
For a customer in Oman, we developed a completely new product which, from a market/industry perspective, was also new for Yokogawa. The product development required vision, strategists, architects and engineers.
From an idea that was drawn on a small piece of paper, to the realization of the product and the demonstration of it to a large audience in the open air of Muscat. We made our client’s dream become true.

Yokogawa values 'quality of life' for their employees. How do you experience that in real life?
Yokogawa’s IT infrastructure makes it possible for me to work from anywhere in the world and be connected to my project team members elsewhere, around the globe.
The flexibility, when needed, and the trust in me to do my work from far, are key values that directly contribute to my work-life balance and quality of life. Yokogawa is always willing to think along with you when personal circumstances require a customized approach.

Why should talented people consider Yokogawa as a potential new employer?
