Career stories - Anca Ivanov

“You will find good role models and good colleagues here, you will enrich your work experience, and you will have that good feeling you are appreciated for your value and contribution.”

How would you describe your job and role at Yokogawa?
In the past I have been working as Project Manager for Customer delivery projects, then I transferred to European IT unit, in a role of ICT Project Manager. I coordinate projects we execute with and within other Yokogawa affiliates situated in various European countries. Each ICT project is an opportunity to provide advanced digital services to all our European employees, and to improve the stability of our company’s ICT infrastructure and security enhancement.
My other role is related to the integration with Yokogawa network globally, so I work in a constant and strong collaboration with the colleagues at our ICT HQ in Tokyo, to  roll out of ICT projects and achieve our strategical goals.

What is the most remarkable thing you have done at Yokogawa so far?
At request of ICT HQ I have been coordinating Global Information Sharing System – Install Base project; our scope was to develop a specific software for Customer Service. The software applications delivered by colleagues at our Dutch affiliate (YEF-NL) consist of System Health Care Tool, Life- Cycle Planning Tool, and the Install Base Database. This software suite is offering an overview of installed base-data at a customer site, creates reports and insight in the lifetime of the various equipment items installed at customer site, predict future maintenance, equipment and software upgrades, and provides customer support.
This tool is now used by our customers worldwide. For this project me and my team were rewarded with the Yokogawa Value Award 2016. This is one project I'm proud of.

Yokogawa values 'quality of life' for their employees. How do you experience that in real life?
My career as well as my family are both equally important. To me, quality of life means to have a balance between these two worlds, doing what gives me satisfaction, both in my personal and my professional life.
It’s not only about the goals of the company, but also about the people and my team who I work with daily. I enjoy my working life at Yokogawa; the “family feeling’, as they say, is really present here; we help each other, also in inter-departmental situations.
Beside that we have flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home. I joined Yoga classes at work and some other colleagues do bootcamp and fit20 training at work. There are many other activities organized by our company, like sightseeing visits or outdoor sport activities where I have the chance to socialize with colleagues from other departments. These activities are very welcome for our expat colleagues also, helping them to integrate easier.

Why should talented people consider Yokogawa as a potential new employer?
Yokogawa is a true opportunity for me in many aspects: developing myself continuously, I have a career, I have traveled a lot through the world for my projects, I work in a real multicultural and very international environment.  If you are willing and motivated to build your career, at Yokogawa you are more than welcome. You will find good role models and good colleagues here, you will enrich your work experience, and you will have that good feeling you are appreciated for your value and contribution.
