Each year, the 3,000 largest companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index are invited to participate in RobecoSAM's Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Following an assessment of economic, environmental, and social aspects, just 464 companies in 58 sectors were declared eligible for inclusion in this year's edition of the Sustainability Yearbook 2013. A total of 34 Japanese companies were selected this year.

Yokogawa became eligible for designation as Sector Mover because the company's sustainability score puts it in the top 15% of its sector. Yokogawa was selected from among that top group of companies for designation as Sector Mover because it has achieved the largest proportional improvement in its sustainability performance compared to last year.

Yokogawa will continue to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable society through business activities that are based on the following corporate philosophy: "As a company, our goal is to contribute to society through broad-ranging activities in the areas of measurement, control, and information. Individually, we aim to combine good citizenship with the courage to innovate."

* Effective January 14, 2013; SAM Sustainable Asset Management AG was renamed RobecoSAM AG.
