Guidance for Keeping Your Dell Technologies Device Clean
The recommended procedures for disinfection cleaning are described as follows. Please follow these recommended procedures to avoid and minimize the risk of damages.
(1) Turn off the component and disconnect AC or DC power before cleaning according to each User’s Manual. Never clean a component while it is powered on or plugged in. Turning off the power may cause the shutdown of the customer plant, please check safety procedures or guidelines before starting this procedure.
(2) Moisten a microfiber cloth with a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol / 30% water. The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the product. Using any material other than a microfiber cloth could cause damage to components. Do not spray any liquids directly onto the components. When cleaning around the components with other chemicals, make sure no chemicals touch the components. If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner or a soft cloth to remove the grit and dust of components before starting this procedure.
(3) Gently and carefully wipe the moistened cloth on the surfaces to be cleaned. Excessive wiping potentially could lead to damaging some surfaces. Do not allow any moisture to drip into areas like the hole on the surfaces (*1), connecting device (*2), and manufacture inspection label (*3). Moisture pouring into an electronic device may cause unexpected damage, and also moisture adding to manufacture inspection labels may cause erasing the mark or font.
*1: Hole on the surfaces means speaker hole on operation keyboard, hole on FIO module, etc.
*2: Connecting device means connector, terminal, etc.
*3: Example of manufacture inspection label is shown below.
