Congratulations to Yokogawa Musashino FC Junior on Winning the World Final of the Danone Nations Cup 2014

Tokyo, Japan - November 18, 2014

Yokogawa Musashino FC Junior, a youth football team managed by Yokogawa Pionics Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, has won the World Final of the Danone Nations Cup 2014.

The Danone Nations Cup is a FIFA-endorsed international football tournament that was started in 2000 for children ages 10 to 12. The best result achieved by a Japanese team before this year was second place. Yokogawa Musashino FC Junior is the first team from Japan to win the championship.

The World Final for the 32 national winners of the Danone Nations Cup was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil from November 14 to 16, 2014. The top two teams from each four-team group advanced to the final rounds. Yokogawa Musashino FC Junior won a string of victories with skillful passing and strong defense, conceding just one goal in all its games.

Yokogawa will continue to promote the healthy development of young minds and bodies by backing this team.
