“It's not only about the goals of our company, but also people.“

In the past I have been working as Project Manager for Customer delivery projects, then I transferred to European IT unit, in a role of ICT Project Manager. I coordinate projects we execute with and within other Yokogawa affiliates situated in various European countries.

Each ICT project is an opportunity to provide advanced digital services to all our European employees, and to improve the stability of our company’s ICT infrastructure and security enhancement.

My other role is related to the integration with Yokogawa network globally, so I work in a constant and strong collaboration with the colleagues at our ICT HQ in Tokyo, to  roll out of ICT projects and achieve our strategical goals.

“Love your life like you love your job!“

As HRBP, I am both the contact person for my defined group of employees in almost all personnel-relevant/employment law issues, but I am also the contact person for managers. Together we design the individual business unit, starting with the hiring of employees, influencing the organizational structure, developing employee’s career paths and so on.

In between I am also working on other topics like labor law, talent management, employer branding, international HR projects, personnel controlling, etc. In addition to these operational topics, it is the strategic topics that make HRBP an interesting job in the first place. No day is the same in my world and work, as new tasks, questions or problems arise every day.

“The interaction with my colleagues is the base for better results regarding our daily tasks and for creating the true team spirit.“

In many situations Yokogawa acts as a modern company, accepting or even encouraging the employees to come forth with ideas to improve everybody’s comfort. Flexibility is the key. Knowing this, I feel more relaxed at times when my personal life requires more attention and it helps me stay focused when I must deliver. For most of the issues that came along, I found understanding in a constructive manner and this really makes a difference.

Yokogawa can give new employees access to a variety of technologies, which translates as well in having multiple engineering departments within an organization. This can help them choose a more suited job.

“Yokogawa promotes values pointed towards quality in our life, focused on what employees can do.“

My role (and responsibility) is to manage the relationships with our customers, focused on Power and Water business. Relationship does not only mean to make a contact or pay a visit; the accounting is a complex process of understanding your customer business, detect key personnel, approach engineering teams, promote and update your portfolio, as well as follow up on the on-going projects (customer satisfaction) and, most important, investigate the possibilities for further collaboration by introducing the customer to better or more suitable solutions for their needs.

“Challenging-diverse-stakeholder-orientated ”

For me it was quite remarkable representing Yokogawa Germany in Yokogawa Recruiting-Video, which was done in 2019. It was a great experience and lot of fun for me personally. I believe Yokogawa has much to offer to young people and we tried to show it through me, as example. I’ve joined Yokogawa in 2014, as a student.

Quality of life at workplace and the balance between work and my private life is very satisfying, I also feel the same vibe from my colleagues and other employees in our office in Ratingen. I appreciate the possibility of personal/professional growth our company promotes, along with safe and healthy work conditions and also collegiality at work.

“The objectives are measured on quality, not on quantity of output.”

Not only Control Engineer oriented people are working here; I’m a Chemical Engineer and can show my skills and competencies in that field. Yokogawa also appreciates my research experience which I gained during my PhD thesis in Process Control. My role is very exciting as I work in a team with colleagues with very different skills and cultures.

Yokogawa supports flexible working-time, which in return helps us achieve a good work-life balance. The objectives are measured on quality not on quantity of output. In addition, we have a team- and family-oriented working atmosphere.

“I like the atmosphere of the small family business.“

Since day one I felt the company is willing to create a healthy life/work balance for everyone. This translates in flexible workhours, possibility for self-improvement trough a variety of courses, trainings and many more.
So, in my opinion Yokogawa not only values the quality of life, they also make it happen.

Even though Yokogawa is a multi-national, I like the atmosphere of the small family business. There are real opportunities for developing each one’s career.
Yokogawa is a stable company that sets goals according to actual themes, such as net-zero emissions, well-being & circular economy, and improves itself anywhere possible.

Sales Engineer (Madrid)

“Yokogawa combines different profiles in the same place, you can learn new things, develop different skills every day. ”

In my current role I coordinate the EPC business within the PCI Department.
Our team has the responsibility to provide the customer with technical experience and support. As sales engineers, we strive to achieve the company objectives; nowadays it’s quite challenging to get clients’ trust and have them placing orders with us, so the balance between technical knowledge and good service that we can provide, is becoming more and more relevant. In addition to drawing-up proposals, we also work as project managers, bearing the responsibility of project developing, minimizing cost, reaching delivery deadlines, in-line with customer requirements and obtaining the goal profit.

Order handler/Work planner (Brussel)

“I feel we are listened to and that personal wishes for growth are taken into account.”

My official job title at Yokogawa is 'Service Support and Admin' which is actually a shorter way of saying that I do a little bit of everything. Some of my tasks are related to service coordination (call-handling, service notes follow-up, emergency spare parts requests, complaint-logging and visits and services follow-ups). I am also the work planner for the operations department; organizing engineer’s planning regarding projects, services and visits… and communicating these between our engineers and customers.

Since last year we got the opportunity to work from home a day per week. It may sound silly, but it does make a huge difference. This is one day where you can use the time you usually spend commuting to actually do something productive.
