I want to start a control program when the time reaches that of the SMARTDAC+ GX/GP series' match time timer, but is that possible?

Yes.
・Under System settings > Internal switch settings, set the internal switch type to Manual.
・Under Event action, set the event type to Match time timer, and the action type to Internal switch.
・Under Control event action, set the types to Internal switch, Operation, and Program run start.
