Pressure - What is Zero Trim?

Zero Trim

The zero trim allows for the characterization data to be adjusted by “correcting” the zero value. The value of the zero correction is applied to all the characterization data equally – moving the entire data set. Zero trim is used to cancel out zero-shift caused by the final installation position or by the static pressure of the system. Zero trim is performed after the installation is complete, and when performing the trim on a DP transmitter with manifold, ensure the equalizing valve is open.

Zero trim can be accomplished using FieldMate, an HHC or using the transmitter's Digital Encoder.
