Tokyo, Japan - February 16, 2026
Yokogawa Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6841) announces that it has entered into a global agency agreement with US-based CMC Solutions (“CMC”) to expand the availability of CMC’s predictive emission monitoring systems (PEMS) outside the US. Under the agreement, Yokogawa will leverage its global service network to market, deploy, and provide comprehensive support for CMC’s PEMS software worldwide, thereby expanding its emission monitoring portfolio and enabling industrial customers to meet emissions regulations with greater efficiency.
Industries worldwide face rapidly tightening environmental regulations and rising expectations for transparent, data-driven emissions reporting. Based on process parameters from the distributed control systems (DCS) that are commonly used to operate plants, PEMS make use of sophisticated algorithms and equations to predict emissions, and are easy to implement.
CMC’s PEMS platform uses a proprietary statistical engine to build highly accurate emissions models for gas- and liquid-fired turbines, boilers, and other industrial equipment. The software automatically generates electronic emissions reports in formats accepted by regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. CMC’s PEMS are already deployed at more than 100 sites across the U.S. and internationally in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, oil & gas, and power generation, and have demonstrated a strong performance record and versatility.
Yokogawa has decades of experience with hardware-based continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS). With this agreement in place, Yokogawa will be able to expand its emission monitoring portfolio by providing end-to-end services for CMC’s PEMS, including installation, routine accuracy audits, and revalidation following process changes—covering both new deployments and CMC’s existing installations.
Yokogawa will offer PEMS to its existing CEMS customers based on a hybrid model, enabling seamless integration with current systems and ensuring reliable emissions monitoring through the use of advanced hardware systems and predictive modeling technologies. Backed by Yokogawa’s worldwide engineering and service organization, customers will benefit from reliable implementation and long-term support delivered with consistent global quality. Furthermore, Yokogawa will actively support its customers by providing tailored solutions that ensure environmental regulatory compliance.
Brian Swanson, president of CMC Solutions, described the agreement as follows: “This partnership is unique due to the shared vision we have of enabling customers to monitor and minimize their pollutant emission rates efficiently. CMC’s PEMS technology is a proven product with a low total cost of ownership. The CMC statistical hybrid predictive engine interfaces directly with Yokogawa’s DCS to enable their global service team to deploy extremely cost-effective monitoring solutions for customers in various industries operating throughout the world.”
Yasumasa Ogawa, a Yokogawa Electric vice president & executive officer and head of the company’s Projects & Services Business Division, commented, “We are excited to bring this industry-leading PEMS technology to customers around the world. This agreement reflects the shared vision of both organizations to drive innovation and sustainability in emission monitoring, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future for industries worldwide.”

Oil & Gas Downstream
The oil & gas downstream industry has been facing an increasing number of challenges in recent years. These include the changing characteristics of the feedstock to be processed, aging of process facilities and equipment, rising cost of energy, lack of skilled plant operators who can run a refinery safely and efficiently, and the ever-changing requirements from both the market and the customer.
Over the years, Yokogawa has partnered with many downstream companies to provide industrial solutions focused on solving these challenges and problems. Yokogawa's VigilantPlant solutions have helped plant owners to achieve maximum profitability and sustainable safety within their plants.
-
Chemical
Chemical plants rely on continuous and batch production processes, each posing different requirements for a control system. A continuous process calls for a robust and stable control system that will not fail and cause the shutdown of a production line, whereas the emphasis with a batch process is on having a control system that allows great flexibility in making adjustments to formulas, procedures, and the like. Both kinds of systems need to be managed in available quality history of product, and to be able to execute non-routine operations. With its extensive product portfolio, experienced systems engineers, and global sales and service network, Yokogawa has a solution for every plant process.
