Yokogawa Curve Fitting for Renewable Energy Tutorial Part 1 of 3

Yokogawa Network Solutions presents a tutorial on basic curve fitting or function finding as a replacement for look-up tables and linear interpolation of intermediate values. This set of videos is intended as a supplement to the original paper: "Simplified Curve Fitting for Renewable Energy Data Collection and Control". Two examples are covered that include approximating a flow rate correction factor for methane with a thermal mass flow meter and correcting the inclinometer reading on a concentrated solar thermal tracking system for gravimetric sag on the heat transfer fluid receiver. The tutorial set shows the original look-up tables for correction factors, generates a matching function using ZunZun (free function finder and curve fitting site), and compares the resulting function output against the original values.
