What is a Coriolis Flow Meter?

By using motion mechanics, Coriolis flowmeters measure the rate at which given masses of corrosive and clean liquids and gases flow through a tube. A Coriolis meter directly measures the mass flow rate with high accuracy while simultaneously measuring density, temperature, volumetric flow rate, and concentration.

    A Coriolis mass flowmeter measures mass through inertia. Liquid or dense gas flows through a tube that is vibrated by a small actuator. This acceleration produces a measurable twisting force on the tube proportional to the mass. More sophisticated Coriolis meters employ dual-curved tubes for higher sensitivity and lower pressure drop.

ROTAMASS Total Insight Coriolis Meter Accuracy

Regarding the vibration noise from the pipeline, the “box-in-box” design of the ROTAMASS TI isolates the flow tubes from the process connection. By absorbing the mechanical noise or any external forces from misalignment from the pipeline, it delivers an excellent zero stability and final flat accuracy. The ROTAMASS TI performance made it possible for the customer to make process improvements, which resulted in higher efficiency between the fuel consumed and the power generated. It was a major improvement over the prior metering system. 

Further digitalization support by Total Insight includes compatibility with SensPlus™ Buddy, which is a communication support service for providing support to sites from a remote location using a mobile device. Its operation is intuitive and it enables visual transmission by video calls and augmented reality (AR) as well as information sharing by sending images and text. Smooth and accurate communication using SensPlus Buddy improves the efficiency of maintenance work and reduces losses due to mistakes.
